Image Processing: Applying Styles to Images

We were inspired by an app called Prisma. The function of this app is to combine two different images together and create a new one. One image is selected by the user and the other is a painting by an artist. The app can abstract the style of the artwork and apply it onto the user’s photo. There is a complex interplay between the content of style of the picture and we are curious about the algorithm basis of the process.
